The success of our business has resulted in the creation of this position in the company.</p> <p>Duties: Responsible for deployment, patching, managing, and maintaining Windows 2003/2000 servers, Active Directory, IIS, Exchange, and Windows XP. This position focuses on making sure organization's systems are secure, tuned for optimum performance, delivering required information to end-users, and interacting properly with other systems. In addition, this position will perform implementation and maintenance of applications as required.</p> <p>Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot servers, backup devices, and monitoring interfaces in an Active Directory environment<br /> Deploy client code to servers as stated in change control documentation<br /> Assist with OS building, configuration, group policy development, and systems management<br /> Review changes, support issues, functionality changes, and requirements for server<br /> Act within identified guidelines, standards, and policies<br /> Work in an Integrated Project Team (ITP) environment requiring interaction with other server engineers, users, and client managers in identifying requirements, specifications and managing project planning activities<br /> Assist team with evaluating technologies and providing recommendations regarding standardization, sizing, and costs for server purchases<br /> Assist with updating operating system software to comply with support criteria<br /> Perform in a fast-paced environment where project deadlines are critical and multiple projects run in parallel<br /> Requires occasional work outside of normal business hours<br /> Reports to Director of IT Operations<br /> Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: The ideal candidate will be familiar with information technology practices and procedures, including the following skills:</p> <p>Knowledge of MS Windows Server, MS Active Directory, and/or MS Exchange<br /> Understanding of networking technology at the physical (twisted pair, fiber optic) and logical (Ethernet, TCP/IP) level, including the various supporting services and protocols (DNS, LDAP, NTLM, Kerberos, SMB)<br /> Familiar with information system backup concepts<br /> Willingness to work concurrently on multiple project tasks<br /> Strong interpersonal and communication skills<br /> Excellent problem solving/root cause analysis skills<br /> Working knowledge of Microsoft Office<br /> Preferred Skills:</p> <p>Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 and 4 Server<br /> Some administration and implementation of any Relational DBMS<br /> Experience working with Dell hardware<br /> Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related technical degree</p> <p>Compensation: Commensurate with experience; range is $33,000-$49,775 annually</p> <p>Benefits: Medical, Dental, STD, LTD, Life, 401(k)</p> <p>Location: College Station, TX</p> <p>You must be a United States citizen, be willing to take a drug test as part of the selection process, and submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process.</p> <p>The US Government restricts access by Foreign Nationals to certain types of technology and technical data.
