The College of Architecture at Texas A&M University is seeking a strong-willed graduate or undergraduate student for a software developer position that is immediately available. The College is undergoing some significant change, some of which includes significant restructuring of the IT infrastructure within the College. This is a great opportunity to get in the change process from the ground-up and help make the College of Architecture at Texas A&M University become even more recognized as one of the premiere architecture colleges in the nation.
Job Description: This individual will assist the Director of Web Infrastructure with developing and planning new
applications to be used by the College of Architecture. Tasks include being a part of the full
software development life cycle, from requirements analysis to implementation all the way to
completion. Additionally, this individual will help maintain existing applications by ful?lling
enhancement requests or providing recommendations to help improve existing applications.
Documentation of new and legacy systems (including but not limited to application
architecture and system requirements) required. Work will be done in a fast-paced (agile)
development environment.
Quali?cations: Pro?ciency in XHTML and CSS required. Pro?ciency in software development using either
Java, C#, Visual Basic, PHP or Ruby required. Knowledge of language frameworks such as
the .Net Framework, Ruby on Rails, or the Zend Framework a plus. Experience with
JavaScript and implementation of AJAX-enabled web sites a plus. Experience with software
development best practices, design patterns, and unit testing also a plus.
Work Times: Flex Schedule - At least 15 hours M-F 8AM - 6PM
Hours per Week: 20 or more
Wage/Salary: 7.00 / hour starting
